I was just leaving the tea room and heading for the exit when I noticed a guy hanging over the enclosure where the crane was .It was a bit weird as he was leaning right over and it looked like he was throwing crumbs or something at the birds. He was standing right next to the sign that said,

“No feeding the animals.”

I was with Elaine at the time and I just said to her,

“What does that man think he is doing? I think we will need to report him.”

She agreed with me. Then he half looked round and I saw that he was younger than me but not much. He just seemed quite an ordinary looking person.

I had just finished my usual delivery of animal feed to the Park. I am here every week at the same time. I have to carry some boxes to the shed next where these big birds are. Strange looking creatures they are. Anyway this man was kind of staring at them and then he turned and walked past me, nodded and went off towards the exit. I didn’t get a proper look at him for the boxes I was carrying but he was definitely taller that me and I am 172cm tall and I only really saw his head. He had dark brown hair. Never saw him again after that.

I was doing a last check on my birds- I look after all the birds here at the Park - and I just reached the enclosure where the cranes are and I couldn’t believe my eyes. Just inside the fence was a cigar end. I wondered how it got there. I had to go in and get it out before it harmed the birds. Who would do such a stupid thing as to throw a cigar into where the birds are?
